About OneTimer Wire

OneTimer Wire tracks what NHL insiders are reporting and turns it into short, attributed briefs. It exists because hockey news breaks on social media first, scattered across a dozen reporters, and there is value in one place that gathers it, groups it, and says plainly who reported what.

How a brief is made

A background service watches the public posts of credentialed hockey reporters. When one posts something newsworthy, a language model running on our own hardware writes a short brief from that post alone. Every brief links to the original post, names the reporter, and treats the information as a report rather than confirmed fact.

When several reporters cover the same event, their posts are grouped into a single story rather than published separately. The story shows how many independent insiders have reported it and keeps a timestamped log of what each one added.

Our use of AI, stated plainly

The briefs on this site are written by a language model, not by a person. The model is instructed to use only the facts in the source post and never to invent quotes, figures or outcomes. It is not perfect. Treat everything here as a pointer to the reporter's original work, which is always linked.

We do not break news. We do not have sources. Everything on this site originates with the reporters we link to, and they deserve the click.

Corrections

If a brief misrepresents what a reporter said, or a story has merged two unrelated events, we want to know and will correct or remove it. Contact details are on the privacy page.
